How long will it take until I see results?
As with any health care, the length of time before you see results will vary. Most of our patients notice significant, sometimes life changing, results within just a few months. Even though the body has an amazing way of being able to heal itself, if you have suffered for years, it does take some time in order to heal up maximally and get your life back.
Are there patients this doesn’t work for?
Although we have been very fortunate to help the vast majority of our patients gain control of their lives, we have had a few patients that we were not able to help. We have found that patient compliance is the biggest single factor in determining if the patient achieves their health goals. The review of records, consultation, and examination also helps us determine if we will able accept the patient.
I’m skeptical about paying more money for another doctor, how is this different?
It is understandable to be a little skeptical. In fact, most of our patients are a little skeptical in the beginning. They have been worn down by the insurance based medical model and given little hope. The flip side is that a few of our patients have been promised the moon and ended up feeling worse by the time it was all said and done.
Dr. Heimlich has been in practice for 20 years. He is one of only about 900 board certified diplomates in chiropractic neurology and a graduate of functional medicine university and has done extensive post graduate studies in functional neurology and functional endocrinology. Doctor Heimlich looks for the cause of why you are having your symptoms and works with your current physicians to compliment them and fill in any voids in your health care puzzle.
How often do I need to come in?
The frequency of visits in our office will be determined after the initial visit. Factors that determine the frequency of visits include what is found on your examination and consultation, location, and resources. We have patients from all over Arizona as well as out of state.
I don’t have a thyroid, but still have symptoms. Can you help me?
Since the majority of patients suffering with thyroid symptoms have an autoimmune condition and not a thyroid problem per se, there is a very good chance we can help you. Our job is to get your body to function the way it was designed to. If your health only had to do with your thyroid, the medications you are taking would have solved the problem. You would be feeling great and not reading this. You would be out enjoying yourself. I try to explain this in my blogs and in the report.
Do I still have to take thyroid medications?
Most all of our patients have to stay on their thyroid medications for life. That does not mean that they have to have symptoms their whole life. Do not stop taking your medication without your prescribing doctors permission.
Does my insurance cover this?
Most insurance companies do not cover this service in our office. If Dr. Heimlich only provided services that were covered, then you would be in the same boat that you are now in. Not getting the results that you want. Insurance usually covers most if not all of the blood labs. Most of our patients are on a fixed income so we strive to make care in our office affordable for any budget. The care you will receive in here will be worth every penny that you are investing in your health.
What exactly is it that you do for thyroid patients?
Our job is to find out why your body is not healing itself up the way it was designed too. The reason you still feel the way you do is because no one has figured out why you are having the problems that you are. Dr. Heimlich has the philosophy that your body will heal itself and you will get control of your life back if we can figure out why you are having the symptoms in the first place. The examination, review of your medical records and lab results will help him to figure out how to get your health back.
What is the treatment?
Since every person is different, even if they have the same diagnosis, Dr. Heimlich’s recommendations will be unique to you. Since Dr Heimlich does not prescribe medication, he uses your body to heal itself though proper structure, function, diet, supplementation, and lifestyle changes.
How long does it take? How long do I need to come in?
Dr. Heimlich will be able to answer that after your initial visit. How long have you been suffering? Since we are working towards getting the body to heal itself and not just mask symptoms with drugs, a realistic goal for most patients would be 3 to 6 months in our office. We have been very fortunate to be able to help out patients just like you. Have you seen our testimonials?

Dr. Heimlich has been in practice for 20 years. I already have a chiropractor why would I need to see Dr. Heimlich?
Most of our patients already have a great chiropractor, as well as a primary health care physician, endocrinologist, rheumatologist, etc. We work with doctors of all specialties. Our goal is not to replace your great doctors. Our goal is to take a fresh look at you, get to the bottom of your symptoms, get your body to heal itself the way it was designed to, and then get you on your way. The Arizona Thyroid Institute exists because patients were not having their needs met by their other practitioners. Our goal is not to duplicate in any way your current treatment approaches.
What is the cost of the initial examination?
The initial visit is $197.
